Meet Maddy Ahr, Vivante Newport Center’s Director of Resident Experience! Maddy has a background in Customer Service and Marketing, with a Degree from UC Berkeley. Maddy was born and raised in the Bay Area and moved down to Orange County in 2020 to be closer to the beach. She’s a fitness enthusiast, has a big sweet tooth (particularly anything chocolate), and loves ending her days watching the sunset on the beach in Newport. Maddy feels honored to be part of the Vivante team and is excited about what’s to come in the beautiful community
Health Services Director
Cindy has been a nurse since 2010 working in a variety of settings, primarily in senior living. She enjoys the hands on direct care and spending time with residents and families that a senior living setting provides. Making sure residents are cared for and enjoying the best quality of life possible is Cindy’s number one priority. She is passionate in supporting her team, their growth and career development and finds fulfillment in collaborating with other departments. She was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the US at 17 years old. Cindy has a twin sister that is also working in healthcare. For fun, Cindy enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, Bryce and Aubrey, and trying out new restaurants, travelling, and watching movies and shows. Cindy is excited to join Vivante Newport Center’s world class team and be part of a company that prioritizes residents, families, and staff as evidenced by the three rings of the Vivante logo.
The Shores Program Director
Director of Transportation
Carmela grew up in Southern California. She lives in Orange County with her husband, Victor, and their three children. She has been in the transportation industry since 2015. Her interest in discovering new places and things to do contribute to her being a great contact about events, social gatherings, and leisure activities. During her free time she enjoys baking and going on walks with her family and their two dogs. Anyone who gets to know Carmela, knows that she is dependable and caring. She acknowledges that life can get busy and will continuously observe and create ways to ensure that she provides the best transportation experience for each individual resident. Carmela is highly approachable and is always willing to listen to residents’ needs and concerns. She and her team will make sure that residents can be at ease when traveling using Vivante’s Transportation Services.
Senior Executive Chef
Michael has worked with many prestigious brands over the years, including The Four Seasons, Montage, Fairmont, Old Ranch and Coto de Caza Golf Club. Originally from Chicago, Michael is a graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute. He finds inspiration in elevating simple dishes to become exquisite works of art through different culinary techniques. An avid traveler, Michael finds new inspiration for his culinary creations through visiting different countries and exploring new cultures through their cuisine, favorites being Costa Rica, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan. Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and their chocolate lab. In his free time, he loves to play tennis, table tennis, surf and snowboard. We are so excited for Chef Michael to join the Vivante family and share his culinary passion and creativity with our residents and their loved ones.
Josh was born in Newport Beach at Hoag Hospital and has lived in Huntington Beach his entire life. He was introduced to construction and building systems by his father at a very young age. While working at an Integral Senior Living community, Josh discovered his passion for working with seniors and just how rewarding it is. As the Maintenance Director, Josh will be responsible for overseeing all of the building systems, repairs and housekeeping staff. Josh is excited to join the Vivante team is looking forward to hearing all of our new residents’ stories. In his free time he loves playing golf, snowboarding and working on cars and motorcycles.
Senior Executive Director
Bob graduated from The University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Business minor and went on to get his MBA from Pepperdine University with a dual emphasis in Finance and Marketing. Bob’s background is in Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Project Management, and previously worked with one of the largest Real Estate Investment Trust companies in senior housing, which provided him with unique insight to the industry. Bob has been recognized for his leadership abilities, delivering a consistently high resident and family satisfaction and by his peers for developing and leading teams. With a passion for serving seniors, Bob has spent nearly the last two decades successfully managing all aspects of assisted, independent and memory care communities with a proven track record of success and has held an RCFE Administrator’s License since 2003. He prides himself on delivering a level of service and results that ensure the satisfaction of the residents, families and owners. Bob derives his fulfillment from the service of the residents, families and associates that live and work in his communities.
