Costa Mesa, Calif. — Vivante On The Coast, a 185-unit, 200,000-square-foot retirement community, has broken ground on the border of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. The $62 million community will include multiple dining options, large outdoor courtyards, rooftop decks, and a fitness and physical therapy facility with an indoor saltwater pool, among other amenities. Vivante is primed to be the first new retirement community built in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area in 15 years. So far, 39 pre-leases have been secured. The complex will be located at 1640 Monrovia Ave. Vivante is being designed by Nexus Companies. It will be managed by Integral Senior Living. Hill Partnership will serve as the architect, with Studio Six 5 acting as the interior designer.

“We want our residents and their families to know they are now part of a unique lifestyle from the minute they enter the community. We’ve incorporated contemporary design, open space and high-end finishes, all in a light, bright atmosphere. It’s an active environment that is designed to not just meet but exceed lifestyle expectations of its residents and their families,” said Phill Barklow, Vivante’s vice president of operations, in a statement.
